Akwasi Achampong, R.P.H, D.O.



Amoy W. Chambers, Esq.


Amoy Chambers practices corporate law in the area of financial services. Ms. Chambers’ practice includes representation of commercial and investment banks and companies in the real estate sector, mezzanine financing providers, and issuers and underwriters in connection with syndicated senior financings acquisitions, recapitalizations, restructurings, securitizations, collateralized debt obligations, commercial loans and mezzanine financings. She volunteers with various community organizations such as A Better Chance, the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, the Jamaica Ministry of Education (National Centre for Youth Development) and the Partnership for Healthy Caribbean.



Andrea James


Andrea James joined OID in 2000 and has served in various capacities (e.g. as Secretary, on the Executive Committee, the Sponsorship Committee, and Luncheon Committees). Since she left Jamaica at such an early age, Ms. James feels that her missions to Jamaica has enhanced her understanding of her roots and her culture. Ms. James is currently serving as the Logistics Coordinator for the missions to Jamaica and Ghana and has gone on several missions with the organization. While on the missions, Ms. James provides clinical and administrative assistance including registering patients and preparing and maintaining medical records. She is currently working at a law firm in Manhattan as Assistant to the Director of Administration.



Andrea Pryce, C.P.A.


Presently, Andrea Pryce is the President and CEO of A&S Produce Corp, a retail business with gross sales in excess of $1 million. Ms. Pryce has over 12 years of managerial experience within the financial industry. From 1995 to 2005, she was a Controller at Bear Stearns, where she started as an Analyst. Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Ms. Pryce worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, L.L.P. from 1995 through 1999. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ms. Pryce served in the capacity of Team Field Leader in the Capital Markets Group. She also worked at Watson Rice & Co. L.L.P. as staff Auditor from 1994 through 1995. Among her varied interests, Ms. Pryce invests in real estate and conducts financial seminars around the country on “Achieving Financial Freedom.”



Andrea Stephens


Andrea Stephens has worked in the healthcare services industry for over 10 years. Presently, she manages the Payroll, Billing and Human Resources departments at J&K Healthcare Services, a provider of home care and supplemental nursing staffing agency. Prior to J&K Healthcare Services, she served as Director of Human Resources and Finance at AlphaMedica, Inc., a medical advertising agency. Ms. Stephens has spent 3 years managing various aspects of the business operations of DJB Enterprises, a midsized telecommunications firm with facilities in the United States and Caribbean.



Carol Biersay, R.N.


Ms. Carol Biersay is a registered nurse who currently works at Jacobi Medical Center in the Labor and Delivery Unit, in the Bronx, New York. Prior to working at Jacobi, Ms. Biersay worked for several years at the University Hospital of the West Indies at Mona in Kingston, W.I. Several years ago, she was introduced to OID by Dr. Roy Streete, Founder and Chairman of OID, and has been a dedicated volunteer since. Miss Biersay presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Evangelical Church of God in the Bronx, New York.



Denise Soares



Ena Wright, R.N., M.S.N.


Ena Wright is a graduate of The City University of New York, Hunter College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She later attended The New School University where she obtained a Master of Science degree in Health Services and Urban Studies. Possessing a keen desire to help others, Ms. Wright began her life of service as a Registered Nurse at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, where she has worked for the past fifteen years. As an educator, nurse and OID member, Ms. Wright has directed her energies towards nurturing and helping those in need.



Gloria Stephens, R.N.


Mrs. Stephens, a registered nurse, is the current President of OID. She is currently employed at the Bronx VA Hospital, where she is responsible for the management and operation of the Spinal Cord Urology Clinic. Mrs. Stephens has over 20 years experience in the areas of medical/surgical, critical care, oncology, public health and spinal cord urology nursing. She joined OID in 1992. Over those years, she has served in various capacities and has remained a dedicated volunteer. She is the first volunteer to be recognized, by the members of OID for her work in the group. She has also served as a member on the Board of Directors of the Grand Concourse Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Bronx.



Marcia Jones, P.h.d., N.P.



Michelle Malcolm-James, RN, Family Nurse Practitioner


Ms Malcolm James serves as a Board member since 2010 and has been a member for since 1998. She has served as a mission’s volunteer, OID Secretary, worked on the membership, sponsorship, and the various fundraising committees. She has over 18 years experience in medicine working at various healthcare institutions in New York City and also as an Adjunct Instructor at the College of New Rochelle. She has a BA in Psychology from the University of Virginia, BSN from the College of New Rochelle and a MSN from Pace University.



Roy W. Streete, D.D.S., M.P.H.


Roy W. Streete is a private practitioner of general dentistry for over 20 years in the Bronx, New York. He received his DDS degree from Howard University and a MPH in International Health from New York Medical College. Currently, he serves as the Health Sector Leader of the Northeast U.S.A. region for the Jamaican Diaspora. On behalf of the Jamaican government, Dr. Streete recently served as a member of a US-based advisory committee on "Jamaica's Healthcare Policy Reform." Dr. Streete founded OID over 16 years ago as a means to improve the life of impoverished people living in rural Jamaica. For his humanitarian deeds, he has received numerous recognitions and awards including the distinguished Medal of Appreciation from the former Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Honorable PJ Patterson, ON, QC, and a Congressional Record Tribute (House of Representative, Honorable Edolphus Towns).



Yvonne Dormer


Yvonne is a NYC Board of Education teacher with a specialty in English Language Learners. Prior to working with the Board of Education, Yvonne enjoyed a career in Travel and Toursim. She worked for seven years with the Jamaica Tourist Board. She then migrated to the United States in 1984 where she worked with TFI tours making reservations and coordinating charter flights to Puerto Rico and other parts of the world. She also worked in an administrative/secretarial position at Bronx Community College. Ms. Dormer has a passion for teaching and intend to remain in this field.
